Stanley Howard Mazin has been in show business since 1963. He has performed as well as acted in several Broadway shows, as well as 10 1⁄2 years on The Carol Burnett Show, plus many films including The Blue Brothers, Newsies, Mame, The Wedding Planner, The Back Up Plan, Dracula, Dead and Loving It, The History of the World, Part 1, and Titanic. The book contains many side stories dealing with himself as well as the many of the celebrities he has worked with. Some are funny, some are embarrassing, and some very touching. Any reader who loves show business will be delighted with his anecdotes. All this plus he is totally candid in relation to his unique family and problems therein.
Not a biography and not told in chronological order, author Stanley Howard Mazin takes you on a journey of a reminisces of his life. Not a show business massive per- say, this is the story of a man of extraordinary positive energy lucky enough to make a living doing what he loves in the theatrical field. In the book, Stan earnestly shares, through thoughts and personal antidotes philosophy and life lessons learned from each encounter he experiences. Reflecting on family, friends, travel, and so much more, including stores from some of his show business friends and contacts along the way, Stan reveals himself as the dedicated, hardworking, loving, loyal, talented, and creative man he has always been. I might dare suggest the term ‘mensch’ suits the author to a tee, as readers may experience for themselves in this most sincere, heartfelt book.

Arthur Hogarth –
A BOOK THAT SPOKE TO ME DEEPLY
Not gonna lie, I’ve struggled with my own passion ever since I was a child, and as a boy growing up in a middle-class home, many expectations were set on me before I even became a teenager that my actual dreams almost got buried completely: being a singer. I can relate to this book so much because while I didn’t pursue my singing passion back then, I feel like it’s never too late to do it now after reading Stanley Mazin’s story. I will definitely recommend this to all my friends who are going through the same struggle.

NEVER SAW DANCING THIS WAY BEFORE
To be honest, I’ve never thought about the art of dance so much. I’ve got two left feet and never got into it. But I got this book as a gift from my friend and while it sat on my shelf for a while because it didn’t interest me at first, one day I just decided to pick it up and I didn’t put it down till the last page. It was so inspiring to know his story—that he took the plunge head-on and pursued his dance career and the great heights he reached with it. Highly recommended!

GIVES ME HOPE FOR MY ARTS CAREER
As an arts freshman in college, I’m constantly bombarded by questions and concerns from family and friends about my chosen path. The constant badgering from different people made me feel depressed and I started questioning my decision to go into theater. Picked this book up to maybe get some inspiration and a morale boost and it’s a great decision that I did. Reading about Stanley’s history mirrored my own, down to the stories of being beaten up and bullied in high school as well as coming out. Anyone struggling with the same problems should pick this up!

A GREAT STORY OF HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE LEADING TO SUCCESS
I believe that hard work leads to great success and this book is a testament to that. Even though I’m not too familiar with the art of dance and theater in general, I admire Stan Mazin’s story of grit and holding on to his dream and working very, very hard to achieve it. It is an inspirational tale for anyone and I’m sure anyone struggling with doubt about their own journeys to success will get a morale boost reading this book. 10/10 highly recommended!

THIS BOOK SURPRISINGLY HELPED ME DEAL WITH LOSS
I can go into great detail about how this book is a great read because of its tale of hard work
and following your dreams but that’s already been said by other reviewers. Instead, I want to point out something that isn’t as common, that the book helped me deal with loss. Like Stan Mazin, I too lost my life partner not too long ago, and the pain is so hard to bear. Reading about Stan losing his love Dom due to illness, and how he coped, helped me deal with my own loss. The pain is still there but re-reading this part of the book always lessens the pain a bit.

WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT BAD, POUR YOURSELF INTO IT
This is the message that I got from this book and to be very honest, it’s something that I myself struggle with. I had many dreams when I was a kid but I never did get to pursue them due to one reason or another. But Stan poured his entire heart and soul into his, and look where it got him? Success! This book is an inspiration and makes me want to try my hand at
something I always wanted to do. Baking! Watch out for Desiree’s Bakery soon! Will channel my inner Stan and pour my heart into baking and other confections!
